Westminster does not have a good record on land reform

It was an occasion which excited some anticipation among that small and diminishing group of us who continue to take an interest in the once great cause of Scottish land reform.

For the first time since devolution, a First Minister of Scotland was to address the annual meeting of the Scottish Landowners’ Federation — or Scottish Land and Estates as they have coyly renamed themselves, though the personnel remain entirely unchanged.
